Welcome to Washington

Well I did it. A lot of 'its' actually. I made the jump from a small town girl in Arkansas to Washington, DC. I found a job when not many other college graduates could. I even started a blog (obviously).

Jumping in front of the United States Capitol Building!

The idea of starting a blog has been on my mind for a while, but I didn't know what to talk about, or what people wanted to read. Instead of having some awesome angle, I decided to just talk about myself a bit, life in DC, the things I encounter, my opinions on things, and anything else that comes to mind. Hope you like!

I guess I'll start with a list of a few things on my mind today!

1. I'm craving Chipotle. I went to the Congressional Baseball game last night to cheer on the Republicans. Sadly my cheers didn't work, but I did get a lot of attention for my awesome shirt! However, instead of eating dinner, I snacked on sunflower seeds, and now am desperately hungry. I tried to make a meal replacement drink for breakfast, but it ended up tasting like baby formula.

Rocking my Team Republican gear at the Congressional Baseball Game. Can't forget the koozie!

2. USA! USA! USA! The US plays Germany today. My (very patriotic America-loving) office is planning on celebrating by escaping the office to watch the game!

Watching the Nationals play the Braves, right before the US played Portugal in the World Cup!

3. Pitchers & Politics. Every couple of months, my office hosts a fun happy hour for young professionals in DC. Our first one of the summer is tonight. We're taking fun accessories for our photo booth! We've done a lot more advertising for this one, so it's looking like it will be a pretty big event! Cheers!
